Piper, their dog and highly unconsulted travel companion, has no idea what’s coming. She is currently practicing for life on the road by remaining skeptical of nearly everything.

After decades of work, responsibility, and accumulating entirely too much stuff, we started asking a dangerous question: What if life could be simpler?

We’re Michael and Jamie—two mechanical engineers planning an early-retirement reset on the road. We’re not full-time travelers yet. Right now, we’re taking shorter trips, testing the lifestyle, working through the numbers, and figuring out what actually belongs in the minivan.

Piper, our dog, is blissfully unaware that her humans are planning to turn future road trips into a way of life. For now, she’s just enjoying the practice runs.
